Pakistan
Country: Pakistan
Village: Mureedke
Ministry: Disciples of Christ Church
In-Country Family: Pastor Qaisar and his family: Wife – Rehannah, Sons – Abimail & David, Daughters – Ava & Hannah.
History: March of 2024 I (Jesse) received a random friend request on Facebook, a young lady (Ava) from Pakistan asking if she could tell me her testimony about Christ which ended up with us on a 45minute Whatsapp call where she opened up to me her family ministry – hosting a church in her village at their home and ministering to indentured servants laboring in brick kilns, often foregoing food themselves so that friends and neighbors could feed their kids or pay for medicine. I asked her if there was anything I could do, thinking she would say “send money for food”. What she said surprised me, “My greatest dream is to become a nurse. I have been out of high school for 3 years and if I do not enter university this year I will no longer qualify to enter in Pakistan.” I found out how little she needed in comparison to the cost in The States and immediately was moved to help her. A few of my friends heard about her need and also jumped in to help. Shortly after I was invited to preach at the Brick Kiln over Whatsapp! I shared a message about St. Patrick and Joseph, about how these slaves chose to seek God during their servitude and ended up saving their nations. I had such a great response Ava invited me to Pakistan to preach in July of 2024, and that was just the beginning!
Ongoing Ministry:
There are currently 4 avenues of ministry:
Monthly Support/Schooling: Generous donors have been sending (undisclosed amount/month) to Pastor Qaisar. from which we have budgeted funds to: send Ava to University and pay for private school for the other three kids, pay for medical needs and food for families suffering in the brick kiln and have the finances as the leader of his own extended family, over which he is responsible, to supply their needs.
Brick Kiln Ministry: As families encounter emergency needs we have been able to pay for surgeries, medicine and food for families during monsoon season when they are unable to work and pay for travel for Pastor Qaisar to visit the brick kilns and administer the gospel through door to door bible studies and prayer.
Mureedke Village/Church: This little village located just North of Faruqabad is filled with Christians who are unable to get decent jobs because of the cast system and Islamic economic favoritism. Workers, if they can find work at all, often make less that $140/ month. As the pastor in his village Qaisar is able to pay overhead for operation of the church in his home and administer help where it is most needed.
The local Police Academy has invited Pastor Qaisar and Commander Eye, a Deputy from Adam's County Colorado, to open up discussions about the introduction of Police Chaplaincy to the Academy.
If you are interested in joining us in any of these ministries, please reach out to the one God has called to currently minister to this family, Jesse Armstrong at rootofjesse2010@gmail.com or to Hillside's Mission Pastor Donevon Loewen at Donevon@hc3.org.
